Letigireng on Satawal

        Born around 1914,  Letigireng is one of the oldest persons living on Satawal.  Having lost none of her facilities,  she still remembers the many songs composed for her famous navigator brothers: Urupiy, Repunglap, Repunglug, and Rapwi.  She knows everything they know about navigating but being a woman has not captained any canoes.   She "holds" navigational knowledge for them and her extended family's kinfolk, occasionally participating in discussions of star courses—if navigational errors have taken place— after a voyage has been completed.
