Bechiyal Village Meeting House in Maap, Yap

This meeting house (faluw) is an outstanding example of traditional Yapese architecture.   It was reconstructed by Chief John Tamag after a typhoon damaged it in the 1990s.  Two ancient stone money discs can be seen fronting the entrance.  For a view of the interior click here.  For more information and photos see Dr. Felicia R. Beardsley's Micronesian Diary.
